The Best of Social Media 2016 Awards is presented by The Social Media Monthly and honors the most outstanding social media innovators and campaigns from around the world. The program is open for entries starting at 12:01am PST June 1st, 2016 with a deadline of 11:59pm PST August 31st, 2016. Winners be selected through a process of review by internal staff and outside judges.

As a way to provide more value to the community and recognition for the best campaigns, we will be publishing a printed book compilation of all the category winners and honorable mentions. This will be a best of ideas book that any marketer will be able to browse and reference for inspiration for their next big campaign. Our estimated shipping date for the book is October 2016.

How it Works

The Social Media Monthly invites any business or individual from anywhere in the world to enter their best achievements in a variety of social media categories. To be eligible, the entry must have been at least partially live between June 1st, 2015 and May 31st, 2016.

There are two groups of categories to choose from. Group one includes two categories to submit a nomination for an individual. Group two includes seventeen categories to submit a nomination for a particular program or platform.

However, sometimes lightning is captured in a bottle or it comes down to well thought out plans and budget to be successful. DATES

All entries must be completed by 11:59pm PST on August 31st, 2016.

ENTRY CONTENT

All entries must be submitted in English and are based on creativity, innovation, sound planning, implementation and outcomes. The most important criterion is proven success in aligning your strategic objectives with your end goals.

You will have the opportunity to fill in the following information.

Objective and Strategy: Describe the objectives and goals that led to the implementation of your campaign or initiative.

Results: Lay out the results of your work and how it successfully met your team’s objectives and goals.

Supporting Documents: Submissions may include up to 5 supporting documents that help to explain and illustrate your objectives, strategy and results. Files may be submitted in the following formats: PDF, GIF, PNG, JPG Any other file formats will not be accepted. If you have a document in excel, word or other format, it must be converted to a PDF file before uploading. Each file is limited to a maximum of 2MB.

Additional Information and Links: You may include any additional information that will help judges evaluate creativity and effectiveness, including landing pages, social streams, videos, etc.

Team recognition: Give credit to all the people who contributed to your entry’s success!

ENTRY FEES

Entry fee is $100.00 USD per submission.

Payment can be made securely by credit card using our online entry form. Entry fees are non-refundable and due at the time of submission. Each submission requires a separate entry fee.

We have the right to discard any and all ballots that can be reasonably determined to be fraudulent or entered by computer applications.

JUDGING, JUDGING CRITERIA AND WINNER SELECTION

The Best of Social Media Awards recognizes outstanding achievement within the professional social media community. All entries will first be reviewed and narrowed down to a selection of 10 submissions per category by the internal staff of The Social Media Monthly. Those 10 submissions from each category will then be reviewed by our outside panel of 3 judges. The judges will select 1 winner and 4 honorable mentions per category. The judges decisions are final.

All submissions will be evaluated and based on creativity, innovation, sound planning, implementation and outcomes. The most important criterion is proven success in aligning your strategic objectives with your end goals.

AWARDS PROGRAM OPERATION

The Best of Social Media 2016 Awards program is sponsored by Social Media Insider, LLC, located at 2100 M Street NW #170-242, Washington, District of Columbia 20037, USA.

Eligibility: The Best of Social Media 2016 Awards program (the “program”) is open to all individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. Employees of Social Media Insider, LLC and other companies associated with the promotion of the program, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The program is subject to the federal, state, and local laws and regulations of The United States of America and the District of Columbia.

Agreement to Official Rules 
Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.

Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the awards program, or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in District of Columbia. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrants rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of District of Columbia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than District of Columbia.

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the program is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the program is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the program to address the impairment and then resume the program in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules or (b) terminate the program and, in the event of termination, award the prize at random from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the program or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the program may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages (including attorney’s fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

ADMINISTRATOR; RELEASE; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Best of Social Media Awards are administered by Social Media Insider, LLC which will be entitled to make all final decisions regarding the awards in its sole discretion.

Social Media Insider, LLC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, cancel or modify The Best of Social Media Awards at any time. By participating in the Best of Social Media Awards, whether as a nominee, a nominator or otherwise, each participant agrees to release and hold Social Media Insider, LLC and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, consultants and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the awards, including, without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Social Media Insider, LLC reserves the right to publish all entries wholly or in part, as case studies or for publicity purposes.

PARTICIPANTS AGREE THAT PARTICIPATION IN THE BEST OF SOCIAL MEDIA AWARDS SHALL BE AT THEIR SOLE RISK. IN NO EVENT SHALL SOCIAL MEDIA INSIDER, LLC BE LIABLE UNDER CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER LEGAL THEORY (I) FOR ANY LOST PROFITS OR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES (HOWEVER ARISING) OR (II) FOR ANY DIRECT DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF (IN THE AGGREGATE) $100. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION.

USER SUBMISSIONS; APPEARANCE RELEASE

Any and all content submitted by a nominator, a nominee or any other participant in the Best of Social Media Awards is referred to in these Terms of Service as a “User Submission.” Each participant shall be solely responsible for his or her own User Submissions and the consequences of submitting them. By submitting a User Submission, the participant represents and warrants that he or she owns or has the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to his or her User Submissions (and all content included therein), including the right to authorize Social Media Insider, LLC to use the User Submissions in the manner contemplated herein. By submitting the User Submissions to us for public display, the participant hereby grants us an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in any media formats now or hereafter created and through any media channels now or hereafter created.

In addition, any person who attends the awards ceremony or any other event associated with the Best of Social Media Awards hereby grants us the irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable right to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform any audio recordings, photographs, video or other images in which such person may be included that are taken at such event, whether accurate or distorted in character or form, without restrictions to changes or transformations, in conjunction with such person’s own name or a fictitious name at our discretion, or no name at all.

The use of any trademark, service mark or logo of Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube or any other media outlet is not meant to imply such media outlet’s endorsement of, or affiliation, with The Best of Social Media Awards in any way.

We will not tolerate violations of intellectual property rights. If you are a copyright owner and believe that any User Submission or other Content infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”).
